IT Technician

The Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Technician to join a highly effective IT team at the Halliard Trust. You will deliver high quality support to 800+ staff and 5,000+ students maintaining the IT infrastructure, printers, mobile devices and software to minimise downtime during the busy school day across the eleven schools in the Trust. You will also be involved in Trust-wide harmonisation projects.  

We are looking for someone with sound technical knowledge of Microsoft platforms (server, desktop and Office 365) ideally in a multi-site environment holding a relevant Microsoft certification ideally.  We will support candidates to gain certification as part of their professional development if they do not hold it yet.

As this role supports all of our school, you will be based in the Trust Office in Macclesfield but will need to hold a driving licence and have your own car. All travel will be fully expensed.

Our tips for a painless process are as follows:

1. Because SAMpeople Recruit is cloud based software, it is possible for you to experience a break in connection and you won't necessarily know about it straight away. We therefore strongly recommend that you prepare your main application content in a different package like MS Word/Notepad and copy and paste it into your application form in the relevant sections.
2. If you get a message saying "Validation Error" it isn't a software fault. It means you have entered data in a format that wasn't expected and it is causing a problem with saving. This might mean you have entered words in a box that expects numbers, for example.
